In the last 50 years or so, we
have seen a metamorphosis of the Word of God as given in the
Traditional King James 1611 Authorized Version of the Bible. New
translations are "popping" up faster than they can be counted and,
worse yet, faster than they can be scrutinized and/or compared with
the Traditional Text. As a consequence, few Christian laymen and
Pastors alike are fully acquainted with the changes that have been and
continue to be made to God's Word.
The
easy-to-read syndrome is the prevailing sentiment in today's microwave
Church society. Christians find it a major chore to read their Bibles,
let alone STUDY it! For example, 2 Timothy 2:15 in the KJV states,
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that
needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Obviously, the first key word in this scripture is 'STUDY.' All of us
are acquainted with the agony that study entails and the effort it
requires of us to comprehend what is heard or written.
The NIV
[New International Version] bible says of this same scripture:
"Do
your best to present yourself to God
as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who
correctly handles the word of truth." It is clear that the
meaning and efficacy of the word 'Study' has been replaced by the
words, 'Do your best to present yourself to God…' There is little to
no relevance in this scripture translation to the true words of the
Bible.
This is
but one example of many that are covered in this book; many
comparisons will astonish you and your eyes will be opened to,
possibly, the most sinister conspiracy of your Christian life. So we
ask: "How could these new Translations make their way into the true
Churches of God? How could translations which undermine the doctrines
of the Deity of Christ, God's Redemption plan, the eternal existence
of Christ, deny the Virgin birth, confuse the Great commission, tone
down Jesus' miracles, alter His teachings, priesthood, grace and
Lordship, become so prevalent in the churches today?
Years ago,
pornography, homosexuality, drugs and abortion were almost unheard of
even in the secular world and now it has encroached upon the churches.
The churches have become so 'soft' on sin that they almost refuse to
say the word 'sin.' It is clear we have witnessed a gradual acceptance
of the worldly standards as the standards of the modern-day church.
The big question is: Once we are aware of the 'devices' of the enemy,
what are we going to do about it?
