in Hawaii The Spirit of Discovery is the inspiration that motivates our
company to pursue creative ideas, devise innovative inventions and
discover technologies to make life better for many people. It is a
supernatural touch of God's hand which helps us to find solutions that would not be
discovered by human understanding alone.
Our company is dedicated to values that contribute to family and fun and we support
spiritual purity as presented in the good news of the Bible.
Based in Hawaii, Spirit of Discovery has found the beauty
of our Islands and our local people as the most ideal setting for our company. Being the
farthest islands from any continent, Hawaii in many ways has been nearest to paradise
on earth. The Hawaiian Islands people extend our 'Aloha' to all the nations of the
world.
History
Spirit of Discovery has been a software developer for educational, productivity, and game
software since 1979. Best known for our innovative computer-aided-design (CAD),
educational, and scientific products and other graphics software, our current focus
is now in the area of Bible games.
Spirit of Discovery products first appeared with Curve Digitizer at West Coast Consultants
in San Diego, CA. Curve Digitizer was a popular easy-to-use computer graphics drafting
program that was sold with many brands of pen plotters for virtually every available
microcomputer in the 70's and 80's.
Our product marketing and development continued with a product line of PC software
entitled Draft & Print, Facts In Action, Body Illustrated, and other educational and
game products at Park Place Productions, Carlsbad, CA. At that time, Park Place
Productions was North America's largest independent software developer, developing Sega
and Nintendo game cartridge titles for such companies as Sony, Electronic Arts,
Komani, Virgin, GameTek and many others.
Spirit of Discovery became its own business entity in 1994 with the continued development
of Draft & Print Deluxe (CAD). Draft and Print Deluxe is a full-featured CAD program
commonly used to interface to or replace AutoCAD. Draft & Print was popular among
draftsmen, architects, appraisers, interior designers, woodworkers and many others.
With the company's relocation to Hawaii, a shift in
technology, and a rejuvenation of company values, Spirit of Discovery has focus
directly toward implementing solutions and technology for making people's lives more
worthwhile. Someone had to create those great Bible game ideas, 'so why not us?'.
